Your travels will take you over 20,000 square kilometers of the wildest regions in the Arctic, home to wolves, caribou, moose, three species of bears (polar, black & grizzly), Arctic & colored fox, wolverine, beaver, pine marten and countless bird life all set on a kaleidoscope of spectacular fall colors.
If that’s not enough try finding some energy to stay up for the finest light show on earth — we live in the best Aurora Borealis viewing zone in the Arctic.
Best of all there are no frozen fingers or seized camera gear to deal with, which is typical if you’re visiting during the traditional winter months. Listening to the spine tingling thrill of a howling wolf pack, while being mesmerized by the dancing Aurora Borealis, is life changing.
This wildlife adventure will touch you like no other experience can. Of course it can’t hurt that you have just finished a delicious meal at our luxury Seal River Heritage Lodge and you’re lounging outside by a camp fire sipping a glass of wine and watching the Northern Lights!

- Single guests can sign up to share a room with another person of the same gender at the regular rate per person based on double occupancy. If a single guest prefers to have a private room option we also have a single private room rate as listed above. This rate guarantees a private room at the Lodge as well as at the hotels required within the package.
- DAY 1. Arrive in Winnipeg.
Arrive into Winnipeg where you will enjoy a relaxing stay at our choice hotel – the Four Points by Sheraton at the Winnipeg Airport. At 7:00pm a dinner will be held at the hotel where you will meet your group and your adventure specialist. You will need your rest tonight for your early morning departure to Churchill.
- DAY 2. Off to Seal River Heritage Lodge.
Arrive in Churchill by air where one of our expert staff will meet you at the airport and will provide you with instructions of the morning transfers. Your flight will take you north-west along the rugged Hudson Bay coastline to the finest Arctic Eco-Lodge on the planet, our Seal River polar bear viewing lodge. There will be endless visuals en-route, so keep those eyes open for polar bears, caribou and other wildlife. Arrive at the Lodge, meet your hosts, check into your private room and prep that camera gear. Your guide will provide you with a brief orientation and then it’s time to get out on the land!
- DAY 3-7. Tundra Trekking, Hudson Bay Coastline, Tidal Flats, Arctic Ocean.
In the coming days you will enjoy the true wildness of this adventure. Breakfast will be served at 8:00 a.m. and lunches are typically held at the Lodge. Dinner is served at 7:00 p.m. Meals may be delayed in favor of wildlife viewing and photographic opportunities! This adventure targets polar bears, possible grizzly and black bears, caribou, wolves, Arctic fox, a beluga whale migratory fly-over, migratory birdlife (millions!), and much more in a backdrop of spectacular fall colors. Your experienced guide is professional and knowledgeable about the land and the wildlife so be prepared to do some learning. A charter bush plane will be used to access Schmok Lake Caribou Camp* to encounter the migrating masses of Canadian Central Barren Ground caribou which can number in the hundreds of thousands in the area.
- DAY 8. Say Goodbye to the Lodge.
After another hearty Lodge breakfast, we will begin air transfers back to Churchill. Have cameras ready again for the return flight as it affords excellent opportunities for great aerial shots. Today is your last day in the Churchill region.
Upon your return to Churchill, our representative will store your luggage. The balance of the day is then free for browsing the shops and exhibits of Churchill. Local places such as Cape Merry, the Port of Churchill, the Eskimo Museum, the Polar Bear Holding Compound (otherwise known as the Polar Bear Jail), as well as the Parks Canada exhibit are all of great interest. Please refer to your "Top things to do and see" list we provided.
Lunch and dinner are on your own this day. Please refer to the Safari Journal for suggestions.
Your flight south to Winnipeg will take place this evening and we hope to see you back at one of our Eco-Lodges for some more bear viewing very soon! Upon your arrival into Winnipeg, collect your bags, and head off to the Four Points by Sheraton conveniently located at the airport.
- DAY 9. Back to Reality.
After a restful sleep you will pack your bags in preparation for your flight home. You will also enjoy a breakfast at your hotel before your trip back to reality.

Location: A 60 km and 30 minute flight from Churchill, Seal River Heritage Lodge was strategically built on the shores of the Hudson Bay, near the Seal River estuary.
Seal River Heritage Lodge maximizes viewing potential by giving guests the opportunities to see bears from a variety of locations. Whether it is from one of the nature trails, the lodge’s viewing tower, or just outside the window as you dine, a trip to Seal River Heritage Lodge means guests will see polar bears and other wildlife like no adventurer on a Churchill town-only package can.

NOTES (What to Bring):
- Warm down-type Parka and insulated wind pants. Insulated hat, mitts and light gloves. Heavy duty footwear. Layers underneath work best starting with polypro underwear (or similar), sweaters, fleece pants etc. Avoid use of cotton when possible.
- Select outer clothing such as a parka, insulated pants and boots can be rented locally, for approximately $275 for a 5 day rental. This can be arranged prior to departure with your Churchill Wild adventure specialist.
Insulated hats and gloves are not available for rental.
