The sublime experience of helicopter skiing is a must for all dedicated skiers and boarders. Panorama is renowned for its high quality guided excursions to the snowfields and glaciers of the Purcell Mountains. Enjoy a day with professional guides leading semi-private and private groups of intermediate and experienced guests.

All packages include ACMG certified guide, powder skis and poles or board, breakfast, lunch and apres snack, guest pack containing probe, shovel, radio and transceiver, certificate, run map, and souvenir heli pin. Extra runs are available to purchase locally for $95 plus local taxes, based on time, weather conditions and group consensus.

ASTAR Semi-Private, groups of 1-4: A smaller heli-skiing/heli-boarding experience for up to 4 skiers in your group, with flights aboard a sporty ASTAR helicopter*. Ski as your own group with up to two other groups utilizing the same helicopter. Package includes 5 runs, private group up to 4 passengers, and the aforementioned general inclusions.

BELL 212 Semi-Private, groups of 4-9: This package allows 4 to 9 to ski in your own private group. Heli-ski or heli-board your 5 runs at your choice of pace, travelling in a larger Bell 212 helicopter*. Package includes 5 runs, private group up to 9, and the aforementioned general inclusions.

* — On flights to the summit where you start your descent, your group will be the only one in the helicopter. After you are dropped off, the helicopter will depart to pick up and fly other groups to their runs and drop them off before returning to pick up your group for your next flight.

OPERATIONAL NOTES:

  • Minimum age for heli-skiing is 14. Guests between 14-18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is 19 years and older
  • Skiers’ weight and skiing abilities (advanced, intermediate or expert) whether client is a skier or snowboarder must be provided in order to confirm a booking
  • The supplier will call all passengers the night before their ski day to check in with them, to confirm they are skiing, and answer any last-minute questions they have, or address any issues
  • Departure point: R.K. Heli-Plex Lodge, at 2045 Panorama Drive, at Panorama Mountain Resort
  • Passengers must be at the heliplex at 08:00 in the morning for check-in and paperwork completion. Once completed, breakfast and supplier safety talk will begin. Passengers can expect to depart from the heliplex around 10:00
  • Guide and staff gratuities are not included
  • Due to limited weight and space restrictions, all passengers have a small safety guest pack to take with them. Passengers are not permitted to take their own backpacks, but may bring their own snowpulse packs (airbags) if they have them. Airbags are available to rent, payable locally, at $35 plus tax
  • Passengers must bring their own boots, and dress in ski gear (helmet, gloves, goggles etc.). The day lodge is closed to the general public throughout the day, so passengers can safely store any extra gear they don’t require for the day

 

SPECIAL PAYMENT POLICY:

  • Deposit of 25% of package is due at time reservation is confirmed
  • Remaining balance is due 35 days prior to arrival

SPECIAL CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • Minimum numbers apply. Example: if 1 member of the group cannot travel the full price will be divided between the remaining guests.
  • Optional transfers from/to Banff & Lake Louise: if inclement weather, mechanical reasons or avalanche conditions prevent the helicopter from flying on the designated day, transfers cannot be refunded
  • Trip cancellation insurance is highly recommended
  • 35 days or less prior to arrival and no show - 100% charge of net package cost
  • For cancellations made to comply with COVID-19 related, border, travel or quarantine restrictions, R.K. Heli will refund 100% of you cost up to 48 hours prior to your first ski/snowboard day. A medical note from a doctor may be required
  • In case of cancellation due to weather conditions, a full refund or an alternate date will be offered
  • No refund will be issued to participants who cannot complete their package due to poor ability, non-COVID-19 related illness, fitness or injury
