SPECIAL CANCELLATION POLICY:

• Up to 60 days prior to arriva - $150 per booking
• 59 to 30 days prior to arrival - 30% of cost
• 29 to 15 days prior to arrival - 50% of cost
• 14 days and less prior to arrival and no show - 100% of cost

 

YOUR PACKAGE INCLUDES:

• Accommodation for 3 nights at the resort in a private cabin, featuring 1 or 2 queen beds, or in a private family cabin, featuring 1 queen and 2 single beds, full bathroom, propane fireplace and electricity
• Dinners and snacks (departures Nov 18 – Apr 10 only): As the restaurant closes at 21:00 for hot dinner, passengers arriving late on Day 1 are provided in-room light meals
• Breakfasts (all departures). Breakfast is served from 08:00 - 10:00. On Day 4, guests departing early will receive a boxed breakfast instead of a full breakfast
• Return transfers between Whitehorse and the resort (upon arrival from Whitehorse: by floatplane in the fall, and shuttle in the winter; departure from the resort will be by shuttle in both seasons). The floatplane flight is approximately 20 minutes, and the shuttle transfer is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes
• 3 nights of unguided Northern Lights viewing
• 1 to 3 hour snowshoeing excursion (or similar) - depending on weather and fitness level (Dec - Apr)
• Winter clothing package (for departures Nov 18 – Apr 10 only) - coat, boots, pants, hat, gloves, for guests ages 6 and older
• Federal GST

• Gratituties (recommended $50 per person per 3-night stay, and $15 per person for the additional night)

ITINERARY:

• DAY 1 – WHITEHORSE TO SOUTHERN LAKES
  Departing from Whitehorse by floatplane or shuttle (depending on the season), you arrive at the resort and and check into your private log-built cabin nestled near the lakeside at 15:00. Late arrivals will be supplied a light in-room snack (for departures Nov 14 – Apr 9 only). Although part of the compound, the cabins are set far enough from the main building and other guest buildings to create a true sense of privacy. Enjoy a delicious dinner prepared with Yukon flair in the main building. In the evening, look to the sky for the incredible Northern Lights as cascading emerald greens mix with vibrant pinks and blues in a dazzling display. Dinner included for departures Nov 14 – Apr 9 only. Overnight at Southern Lakes Resort.
• DAYS 2 & 3 – SOUTHERN LAKE RESORT
  Whether accompanying your guide through the local trails to track moose, wild sheep and other large inhabitants of the forest and lake lands, or strapping on snow shoes to complement your cold weather gear and trek across the crystalline wonder of a frozen winter world, the magic of the Yukon is yours to discover over the next two days. Dog sledding can be pre-booked. Other activities may be available locally, passengers may inquire about them upon arrival. In the evening, watch for the Northern Lights, the most spectacular natural fireworks in the world. Breakfasts included for all departures. Dinners included for departures Nov 14 – Apr 9 only. Overnights at Southern Lakes Resort.
• DAY 4 – END OF PACKAGE — SOUTHERN LAKES RESORT TO WHITEHORSE
  After breakfast, you depart at the lodge for your return shuttle transfer to Whitehorse. Breakfast included. Early departures are supplied a boxed breakfast in their room before leaving.

 

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Embark on a dog sledding excursion you will be picked up by the musher family at the resort where you meet the friendly huskies and get your instruction. For the 4-hour with lunch option, you will enjoy a high-quality dogsled ride with professional gear and experienced mushing guides. Your adventure will take you through the trails and forests of the Southern Yukon. Some parts are on the frozen Tagish Lake, where you can enjoy great views on the surrounding mountains. The dogs are very well trained and socialized racing dogs and are powerful athletes with an eagerness to run.
Activities are subject to availability and snow conditions.

 

PACKING SUGGESTIONS
Long underwear, woolen / acrylic socks, fleece sweater, wind & waterproof jacket (GoreTex), insulated pants and/or skipants, sunglasses /ski goggles, footwear for around the resort, UV protecting sunscreen, moisturizing lotion.

 

HOW TO GET THERE:
Transfers from Whitehorse are available for flights arriving prior to 21:30. Departure transfers on the last day are available for flights leaving no earlier than 07:30. Passengers may be picked up/dropped off at downtown hotels, airport, RV and car rental stations in Whitehorse. Please advise at the time of booking the preferred transfer times and pickup/dropoff locations.
Air North operates scheduled flights between Vancouver and Whitehorse. Flight time is approximately 2 hours, 15 minutes.
